The Opportunity:
The Health Professions Student Center at Washington State University (WSU) invites candidates to apply for a Student Services Coordinator/Advisor. You will be responsible for coordinating an all-inclusive program that provides support for pre-health students in an assigned area, regardless of academic major of study. You will collaborate with departmental academic advisors, instruct, guide, and counsel students based on their career choice, course choice, and academic major to develop an application process plan for professional schools. Maintain good working relationships with faculty and staff in degree programs at WSU and with admissions offices for the professional schools both at WSU and at other institutions. Provide workshops, personal statement/application assessments, teaching modules, and program assessment. The successful candidate will begin as either a Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1 or Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 2 depending on your level of experience.
This position is located on the WSU Pullman campus in Pullman, Washington.
Required Qualifications:
Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 2:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Required Qualification for All Candidates:
Experience working directly with students/student services.
Evidence of effective communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Applicant must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekendPreferred Qualifications for All Candidates:
A Master’s Degree.
Preference given to science or health care advanced degree.
Prefer experience with recruitment and outreach.

Monthly Salary:
Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1: $3,750.85-$5,397.56
Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 2: $4,061.90-$6,092.00
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
