The Office of Student Success at Oklahoma State University supports undergraduate students in achieving academic, professional, and personal success through intentional programs and services. The Assistant Director of Pre-Professional Support Services plays a key leadership role in preparing students for entry into competitive professional programs such as medical, dental, law, and other graduate-level fields. Reporting directly to the Assistant Provost for Student Success, the Assistant Director oversees a dynamic team and is responsible for the development, coordination, and assessment of pre-professional advising, programming, and support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and support professional staff members to ensure effective delivery of pre-professional support services.
  • Management of pre-professional programs and initiatives in alignment with the university’s mission and student success goals.
  • Advise undergraduate students pursuing pre-professional pathways, providing guidance on academic planning, career preparation, and application processes.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive advising strategies for pre-professional students, including career exploration, application preparation, and interview readiness.
  • Coordinate and support the development and delivery of pre-professional preparation courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to develop targeted programming that supports pre-professional student pathways and success.
  • Serve as a liaison to professional schools, admissions representatives, and external organizations to build partnerships and enhance student opportunities.
  • Promote Oklahoma State University’s pre-professional resources and assist in recruitment efforts.
  • Engage with alumni in pre-professional fields to support student mentoring, programming, and networking opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain communications and outreach efforts (newsletters, events, websites, etc.) to promote pre-professional resources and engage students across disciplines.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on student outcomes, service utilization, and satisfaction to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
  • Manage and monitor budgets related to pre-professional programs and services, ensuring responsible use of institutional resources.
  • Stay informed of national trends, best practices, and changes in admission requirements within professional fields to keep programming current and effective.
  • Represent the Office of Student Success on university committees and at institutional events focused on student development, retention, and academic achievement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Provost for Student Success.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in higher education administration, counseling, student affairs, or a related field
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Three years of related administrative, counseling/academic advising, and teaching, training, or staff development experience. Demonstrated achievement in student development, academic advising, and/or program development.

Campus & Work Schedule

OSU-Stillwater, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
